Happy Canada Day

Hi to all at home and I will be there soon enough. I have about 30 days remaining in Korea. I can't believe how quickly my contract has gone this year. This past weekend I went to Canada Day again. This year it was at a different location, near World Cup Stadium by the river at Nanji Camping Ground.

It was an interesting affair with lots of good ol’ Molson Canadian beer and food by Outback Steakhouse to add to the festivities.

There was a tug-of-war and Team Ontario lost, but there was probably cheating involved J We just sat around and enjoyed a day in the sun. It was very hot and many people had stolen water guns from the kids and were running around and chasing each other. It was quite a scene.

Kristin and Buddha

Well, this is my crazy Californian friend, Kristin and her new puppy. She has had the puppy for a while now and I should have posted this a while ago. So here are some wonderful pics that give you insight and hopefully a laugh. I know that is what we do most of the time.

I introduced/dragged Kristin to watch Canadian Olympic hockey with me.

One of our many nights out at RMT.

This fateful night had us at RMT. On the way there Kristin was drinking what I thought was water, but it was nasty soju. I think it has kicked in.

Beware, I always have my camera ready.
Kristin - looking very cute.

Walking around Hongdae we met a bottle of soju.
Welcome to Dynamic Korea!!

Kristin and Buddha - who is being restrained
from eating my dinner,
much to her dismay.

Well, it was a great day for a hockey game. Granted watching it here in Korea it was a little delayed, but it was worth the wait.

All these people are sitting upstairs at Rocky Mountain Tavern on a Sunday afternoon to watch Game 6. It's nice to have days where you escape this place and feel like you are at home. Game 7 here we come!!!! See ya'll at RMT Tuesday @ 9. So all of you out there - shut the @#!* up about who wins!!!

Who Stole The Cookie From the Cookie Jar

Came across this and thought it was hysterical and I should post it on my blog.

Stanley Cup Playoffs in Seoul - Priceless

* Arrive in Korea to teach English, travel and experience Asian culture.

* Discover a Canadian Bar (http://www.rockymountaintavern.com) in the heart of Seoul and congregate there with friends to unwind after a long day at the hogwan, drink bad Korean beer and complain about the various language barriers that have almost made you pull out all your hair.

* Revel in the fact that technology has created the sling box (and downloading), which allows one to enjoy a hockey game once in a while. (

* Being able to sit back, relax (escape from this somewhat backwards land) and watch the Stanley Cup Playoffs with people from home.

* Priceless!!!
