The 4th Annual Kimchi Pot

Posting to come soon...stay tuned.

Pictures are posted - Click on the title.

So I finally have time to write about the Kimchi Pot as well I am not employed by said school at this time this took place.

The plan I hatched went off without a hitch. I was "sick" at school - literally. I won't go into the gory details, but let's just say there was some cleaning involved. Most of you who are on the team and friends of mine already know the intimate details. According to the doctor, I had accute tonsillitis, which proves that Korean doctors are well....you know if you have ever been to one and they give you 10 pills to take and you have no idea what they are or what they do.

So we (Cheifs Red) played against Incheon, Shanghi, Gecokos Hansons and then in the quarterfinals played ourselves - Chiefs White. The Incheon game was going well until we blew a 3 - 0 lead. We were able to defeat Shanghi, score 3 - 0, I think. Then we got demoed by the Hansons and I conveniently forget the score.

Against ourselves, we were going to combine the teams and divide the sticks and give their goalie and chance to stop some shots, but everyone wanted to play. I recall the score around 10 - 1. I did score that game, but I wouldn't call it a real goal. Tyler would have been proud as it was announced "scored by number 69 - Biatch!!!" Thanks Tyler (insert eye-rolling).

It was a great tournament and I had a blast!! It was good to see the Tokyo Canadians again, who pulled it out in the last 15 seconds to score the winner and win the tourny.

There were 8 teams total - 5 Korean teams, 2 from Tokyo and then a mixture that formed Shanghi. I was not the only girl in the tournament, Yakamo and her friend (can't recall her name) played for the Tokyo Samurai. I do know that those girls can drink and love to party!!!

Even though it was a tournament at "home", it was a lot of fun. A nice break away from things typically Korean and a chance to submerge yourself into feeling at home. The drama that I went through was totally worth it to sit and chill (literally) at the rink, play some and watch some hockey and enjoy the atmosphere.
